I wasn't able to secure a pass for the "RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER" in Manila, but I am very thankful that I was able to cover and watch the "RUNNING MAN: RUN 2 U" show that happened on July 6, 2024, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Running Man is the longest-running South Korean variety show, which started in 2010.
It was my first time watching a full show of Running Man, and what made it even better was that I was watching it live, seeing the cast—Jee Seok Jin, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, HAHA, Song Ji Hyo, and Yang Se Chan—in person.
The show kicked off at 5:30 P.M. with performances from the Running Man Philippines cast, consisting of Buboy Villar, Mikael Daez, Glaiza de Castro, Miguel Tanfelix, Kokoy de Santos, Lexi Gonzales, and Angel Guardian.
They performed "Turn Up" by KAIA, "Raining in Manila" by Lola Amour, "Maharani" by ALAMAT, "Tala" by Sarah Geronimo, "Pantropiko" and "Salamin Salamin" by BINI, and "Gento" by SB19.
Around 6 p.m., the crowd started cheering when the original cast members appeared onstage and performed "Spring Day" by BTS.
The cast expressed their gratitude to the Filipino fans and thanked everyone for attending the event.
The cast is very happy to be back in the Philippines, and they expressed their love for Filipino foods, including lomi, lechon, and sisig.
The next segment is a guessing game where the cast needs to guess the correct K-pop song with the help of the audience. The songs included are "Playing with Fire" by Blackpink, "Nobody" by Wonder Girls, "Fantastic Baby" by Bigbang, "Bboom Bboom" by Momoland, and "Next Level" by Aespa.
AMAZING PERFORMANCES
Each cast member gave a solo performance, starting with Song Jihyo performing "Bam Yang Gang" by BIBI. This was followed by Ji Sukjin's rendition of "All of Me" by John Legend, Yang Sechan's performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, Haha performing "Ice Bottle" with U-Kwon of RBZ, and finally, Kim Jongkook serenaded the crowd with his songs "One Man" and "Spring Has Come." Lastly, Yoo Jaesuk performed "Redevelopment of Love" by Sandeul.
The next segment is a fun activity where the cast was divided into two teams and needs to change into a costume for a relay game. It was followed by selected fans who were called on-stage as they cosplayed their favorite Running Man cast members and got to meet them.
The fun never ends as the highlight of the night is the collaboration stage. Sechan and Haha performed ‘Kalla’ and ‘Dang Diggi Bang’, followed by the Spartace couple Jihyo and Joongkook as they performed ‘We Need to Talk’ by The Jadu.
Jihyo, Haha, and Sukjin performed ‘Beach Again’ by SSAK3, followed by Jihyo, Sechan, Haha, and Jaesuk performing ‘Y’ by Freestyle.
Ending the night with a bang, all of the cast performed ‘I Like It’, ‘Time of Our Life’ by DAY6, ‘Lovable’ by Kim Jongkook, and ‘Busan Vacance’ by RGP. Lucky fans from the VIP area were able to get selfies and autographs from the cast. It was an amazing Running Man live experience as it was filled with games, fan interactions, and unforgettable performances.
