KWAVE Music Festival Manila 2024

I have recently gotten into P-pop, and I must admit that I enjoy the songs and choreography of most P-pop artists.

I was able to get the opportunity to cover the KWAVE Music Festival Manila for Manila Concert Junkies, which was held at the Burnham Green, Rizal Park, Manila, on May 11, 2024.

The event celebrated the friendship between the Philippines and Korea and featured K-pop groups The Boyz and fromis_9, as well as P-pop acts Darlene, KAIA, PLUUS, YGIG, and YARA.

It is my first time covering an event at Rizal Park. Please note that the concert is free.

I arrived at the venue at around 4 PM and covered the event with friends from the media: Ken, JD, Noel, Eljay, Bryan, Vinny, Cha, and more.

The event kicked off with a performance from solo artist Darlene, who performed "Stay," IU's "Love Wins All," and a cover of "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys.

P-pop girl group YARA electrified the stage by performing their original songs "ADDA" and "Eksena."

The four-member group also performed their rendition of "Bebot" by the Black Eyed Peas and "Bakit Papa?" by the Sexbomb Dancers.

PLUUS, a six-man boy group, made their presence felt with their set by performing "Universe," "Shining Star," and "My Time."

The crowd started cheering when the group performed "Get a Guitar" by K-pop group RIIZE.

South Korean girl group fromis_9 made the crowd scream as this was their debut in the Philippines.

The eight-member group performed their hit singles "We Go," "Feel Good," "#menow," "Stay This Way," and "DM."

Rising P-pop girl group KAIA performed next, showcasing their amazing vocals and dance moves.

The four-member group performed their hit songs "Blah Blah," "Dalawa," "You Did It," and a cover of "Feeling Myself" by Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj.

YGIG lit up the stage with their visuals, vocals, and choreography.

The group delivered an amazing set by performing "Universe," "Touchdown," "Shaba Shaba," and "Pretty Savage" by Blackpink.

The audience started to stand up from their seats when the main act, The Boyz, appeared on stage.

With a powerful setlist, the South Korean boy group performed their hit songs "Nectar," "Watch It," "Roar," "Thrill Ride," and "Fire Eyes."

The event ended around 10 p.m., and I can say that it was fun and well-organized.

We had a quick dinner at the nearest Chowking before calling it a night, as I still had work and coverage the next day.
