Howlers Manila 2.0: A Celebration of Music, E-sports and Cosplay

Howlers Manila is back for the second time this year, and this time it is bigger and better as the event celebrates music, cosplay, e-sports, and more activities.

The music festival was held on October 21, 2023 at Circuit Makati.

I immediately applied for media access when I saw the event poster because of the star-studded lineup, which includes Ely Buendia, Mayonnaise, Silent Sanctuary, Flow G, Al James, and more.

I secured three media passes, and I was joined by photographers RM and Maco from my site, Concerts in Town PH.

In the venue, fellow sports and music photographers JD, Joseph, Miles, and Keanna were also present to cover the event.

We arrived around 4 PM, and the venue was already filled with fans and cosplayers. Howlers Manila offers a wide range of activities, including the Spartan Race, Cosplay and E-sports competitions, booths for merchandise and food, a Haunted Maze, and more.

When we arrived, the Ppop artist was performing on the stage.

We were able to meet the members of KAIA after their performance. I am also a fan of their music, especially the song "Dalawa."

Also met Kim of YARA and talked to Charlotte of KAIA who always watches K-pop concerts.

After the pop acts, the OPM bands rocked the stage with their popular hits.

Sexbomb Dancers

The 90's dance group, Sexbomb Dancers, featuring Jopay, Che-Che, Sandy, and Mhyca, surprised the audience when they performed their famous tracks "Spaghetti," "Sexbomb," and "Bakit Papa."

The festival is not complete without hip-hop and R&B. Flow G, Kiyo, and Al James entertained everyone with their songs.

I also visited the Cosplay Kingdom area where I ran into my friend Wavs who also attended the festival.

I had the chance to meet some of the cosplayers, artist and influencers in the event including Monty of Mayonnaise, Che-Che of Sexbomb Dancers, Annaj, Sky Morelle, Kim Pacheco, Bella Ciao and DJ Katsy Lee.

It was a fun and tiring night, but we did enjoy the event and the music. Looking forward to covering Fusion PH, the next music festival next month.

Since it was getting late and I still had work, we decided to leave around 10 PM and weren't able to see the last artist, including the DJs and Ely Buendia.

Big thanks to Howlers Manila for granting us access to cover the event.

Photos were taken using the Nikon D750 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
