I am back to covering K-events after being busy with the recent FIBA World Cup 2023 from mid-August to September 10.
My first event is the press conference of South Korean actor and singer OK Taecyeon which happened on September 22, 2023 at the Novotel Manila ballroom.
The press conference is for OK Taecyeon's first solo show, titled "2023 SpecialTY Asia Fanmeeting in Manila," which will take place on September 23, 2023, at the New Frontier Theater.
People from the press and selected fans were allowed to enter the venue around 4:30 PM. While waiting for the event to start, staff from Pulp gave the attendees a personally signed photo of Ok Taecyeon, which made everyone, including myself, really happy.
I started listening to 2nd generation K-pop groups, including 2PM, but I only became familiar with Taecyeon through his roles in the dramas Dream High and Vincenzo.
The event started around 6 PM and was hosted by Kring Kim. Additionally, Happee Sy, the founder of Pulp, made a few opening remarks.
Taecyeon answered questions about his career, 2PM, and his fans.
"Coming back is amazing," he said after returning to the Philippines after 10 years.
The actor said that he remembers the Filipino fan as being loud and energetic. In addition, he said that his fans are his motivation and they keep him going and creating more work.
When asked about his dream roles, he said that he wanted to try different roles and widening his spectrum as an actor like being a fighter or boxer.
To conclude the press conference, Taecyeon expressed gratitude to everyone who attended the event, despite the smog caused by the Taal Volcano in Manila. He also mentioned that he has prepared a surprise for his fans who will be attending his fan meeting.

After the event ended around 6:40 PM, I rushed to Araneta Coliseum to cover GOT7's BamBam Area 52 concert.
