I have been a fan of Girls' Generation since 2009, and I can confidently say that they were the reason I became a K-pop fan.
I am happy that I attended Tiffany's solo concert in 2020 and the K-verse in Manila event in May 2023 with Taeyeon. And now, I am excited for Yuri's first solo concert called "Yuri Chapter 2 in Manila".
Yuri Chapter 2 is Yuri's Asian Tour, which started in Seoul. Manila is the second stop. The tour will continue in Bangkok and Taipei over the next few weeks.
The fan meet started at 7 PM, and I arrived around 5 PM to obtain my media ID and have an early dinner.
We were advised that we could approach the stage and take photos of the entire event.
Yuri started the fan meet by performing "Into You."
It was followed by a question and answer session, during which Yuri answered questions about her tour and her stay in the Philippines.
She said that she wanted to try Jollibee and would like to visit Bohol for scuba diving.
The SNSD vocalist also shared photos from her family trip in Australia and some photos in Los Angeles with her fellow SNSD members.
She also participated in the games, including the Filipino Tongue Twister challenge, and she also tried several Filipino snacks.
It was also discussed in one of the segments the characters and dramas of Yuri, including "Invincible Youth," "Boss am Steal the Fate," and "My Teenage Girl."
During the Fan Meet, Yuri performed "1,2 Step" by Ciara, followed by "Dessert" by Hyoyeon, SNSD's Oh!GG's "Lil' Touch," and "Butterfly."
She ended the night with a nostalgic performance of SNSD's popular hit "Gee," which delighted the fans.
The South Korean idol promised to return to Manila in the future and expressed her hope that the PH SONEs would still be a part of her next chapter in life.
It was nice seeing friends from the media who covered the event and also meeting new ones who are also fans of Yuri.
I also met Charlotte and Alexa of KAIA who is also present in the venue to watch Yuri.
Only a few media outlets were accredited for the event, and we would like to extend a big thank you to CNCA media for allowing us to be a part of it.
My third article for ABS-CBN is also available online.
