One of the most awaited game of the season as it will be between the two teams from Katipunan who fought in the UAAP finals last season. The game between UP and Ateneo was held at Mall of Asia Arena which is the second game for the day.
I am very happy that the game was held at Mall of Asia Arena as I like the lightning of the venue, it is near than Smart Araneta and lastly is we were allowed to take photos in our usual spot at ringside.
The venue was packed by supporters from both teams though most of them came from Quezon City area.
Carl Tamayo who struggled in the start of the game led the defending champions with 20 points as the UP Fighting Maroons edged the Ateneo Blue Eagles 76-71 in overtime.
James Spencer chipped in 14 points while Malik Diouf added 12 for the Maroons.
JD Cagulangan who missed the UP's first four games due to left hamstring injury is back for UP, finishing the game with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assist and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Dave Ildefonso top scored everyone with 22 points as this is one of his best game so far in the season.
Forth Padrigao had 15 points and Angelo Kouame added 10 for the Blue Eagles.
It was one hell of a game just in the first round of the season and looking forward for their rematch in the second round.
It was nice to see my good friend Herbert Hernandez of Moonstar88/6 Cycle Mind.
Also bumped with NU Lady Bulldogs Camille Clarin and Vlogger Alliana Dolina who are both watching the game.
