Happy 64th Birthday Mom at Baguio City

 Happy Birthday Ma!

To celebrate our mom's 64th birthday, me and my brothers planned a trip and we planned to visit Baguio again, the last time we went to Baguio with just the four of us was 12 years ago and this time it will be a total of nine of us including our kids, wives and Clet's fiancee will join us. Our dog Astro also joined us with the trip.

I already secured a place to stay which is my fellow photographer's place in Baguio called The Secret Cabin and my mom was able to rent a van with driver for our vacation from May 30 to June 1.

MAY 30

We left Laguna around 11 AM then had lunch at KFC located in Caltex SLEX. It was a fast and smooth trip via Skyway 3 and TPLEX.

We arrived at Benguet around 4 PM and bought the local delicacy called Tupig.

We made a stop at the Baguio Lion Head and this is my first time here though I have visited Baguio several times.

We had Strawberry ice cream then took photos.

Around 5:30 PM we arrived at The Secret Cabin then rest for a while.

The place is really nice and everything that we need is here including the full kitchen, hot and cold shower and relaxing ambience. Comes with clean towels, pillows and blankets.

We had dinner at the Sizzling Plate branch in Session Road and had the amazing Australian Porterhouse Steak.

Here's the current price and menu for June 2022.

We then across the street and bought the famous Vizco's Strawberry Shortcake.

The cake is not complete without coffee, beside Vizco's is Starbucks.

When we got back at the transient house, we did surprise our mom with the cake and sang her a Happy Birthday. All of us took a video and no one took a photo of the candle blowing, I just took a screenshot of the video from my phone.

We  slept late as me and my brothers played Mobile Legends and finished around 2 AM.

MAY 31

We woke up a little late as we stayed late playing mobile games. We bought Jollibee for our breakfast.

Our first tourist spot to visit today is Camp John Haywhere the kids experienced riding the horse. This is also Jerrick's first time riding the horse along with a guide.

After Camp John Hay, we went to visit The Mansion.

We had a quick snack (Strawberry Taho and Mango) and also bought Sagada Orange which cost 180 pesos per kilo.

We then had a quick photo session at The Wright Park across The Mansion.

Flexing our NXP MPL PH Season 6 Jersey.

More photos of my brother, Zeq and Jerrick.

My mom and my wife is very excited for our next destination which is The Minesview Park as they can checkout and buy some plants.

Jerrick buying a samurai/katana toy.

Always a breathtaking view of Minesview Park.

Lastly, merienda again buying inihaw dried pusit (squid).

Botanical Garden

A very relaxing spot because of the view and the plants all over the place.

Nike Air Presto "South Korea"

We are very tired from walking from the Botanical Garden and also feeling hungry again so we had our late lunch at Bulalo Joint before heading back to the place we are staying to rest.

Wasn't able to take photos of the food as we are all feeling tired and hungry

After taking a rest from our tiring trip today, we went to Good Taste for our late dinner.

Good thing that they are still open until 11 PM.

Lastly, we visited the Baguio Night Market. We were able to buy foot rags and souvenirs like shirts and ref magnets.

JUNE 1

Our original plan is to leave early around 7:30 AM but since we slept around 4 AM, we were able to checkout at 10:30 AM and visited The Baguio Bamboo Farm.

It was my first time here where we had a short trail with Bamboos all over the place.

Strawberry Farm

The first thing that we did is eat. We bought Strawberry which is really really delicious and refreshing and we had squid balls, kwek-kwek and proven (Chicken Skin).

We then  checked the stores and bought a Mangosteen wine, vegetables (Broccoli and Carrots) and pasalubongs.

Igorot Stone Kingdom

Our driver Kuya Owen said that this is a new tourist spot in Baguio City and entrance fee is 100 pesos.

It is a man-made park built on the mountainside. There is a stone wall  inspired by the rice terraces in Battad.

There are stalls where you can buy food, coffee and drinks to rest and enjoy the view. After a few minutes, the place is covered with clouds/fog and it started to get cold so after taking few photos, we went back to our van then headed to SM Baguio for our late lunch.

It started to rain when we arrived at SM Baguio and our plan to visit Burnham Park has been canceled.

We decided to have dinner at Manam and enjoyed the Filipino dishes like Crispy Sisig, Grilled Squid, Bagoong Rice and Watermelon Sinigang.

We strolled around SM to buy the things that we need. We bought a Vizco's Strawberry Shortcake , J.CO donuts and Tiger Sugar Milk Tea.

Leaving Baguio City feels sad in some ways as our family vacation is over but looking at the brighter side we had fun in our 3 days  and 2 nights stay.

Our last stop is at the gas station in NLEX where we had our late dinner and also had coffee. We also made our driver rest and take a nap while we are having dinner and just bought food for him.

We arrived around 2:00 AM at home and called it a day. Looking forward for our next family vacation and it was nice spending time with my family again.
