FIVB Beach Volleyball Manila Tour 2018

For the first time, an official FIVB Beach Volleyball tour was held here in Manila last May 3-6 at the Sands SM by the Bay.

International and local teams in the men's and women's division took place in the four-day tournament.

I went to the venue on the second day to get my ID and since it's summer in the country, it was very hot and exhausting. I left around 3 PM because of my PBA coverage at Araneta.

The next day (May 5) I covered the semi-finals of both Men's and Women's Division. Here are my photos during that day.

I wasn't able to cover the finals because of the hot weather and my PBA schedule at Mall of Asia Arena.

In the women's division, it's the Japanese duo of Ayumi Kusano and Takemi Nishibori defeated Spain's Maria Belen Carro and Paula Soria in the gold medal match 2-0 (21-14, 21-18) .

Team Paraguay Erika Bobadilla and Michelle Valiente get the bronze as they defeat Japan's Sakurako Fuji and Shinako Tanaka 2-0 (21-17, 21-16).

Meanwhile in the men's division, Germany's Max-Jonas Karpa and Milan Sievers wins the gold defeating Russia's Petr Bakhnar and Taras Myskiv 2-1 (15-21, 23-21, 15-9).

Switzerland's Gabriel Kissling and Michiel Zandbergen wins the bronze medal by defeating Spain 2-1 (22-20, 19-21, 15-13).
